We’re growing a team of musicians, educators, and community builders who believe music should be open to everyone. From Teaching Artists to advisors and coordinators, each role is rooted in our values of access, inclusion, and wellbeing so that FairPlay can be a place where people of all ages feel welcome to make, share, and enjoy music.

TEAM

We actively recruit people from marginalised communities and want our team to reflect the diversity of the city we serve.

We’re currently fundraising to open up these roles and will share updates when they become available. In the meantime, if you’re curious, we’d love to grab a coffee and chat informally.

Team

  • Jessica Boyd

    Founder & director

Jessica is a London-born singer-songwriter, musician, and qualified music teacher with over a decade of experience leading music departments across London. Having faced barriers to music access herself, she is driven to remove them for others. Trained in community arts facilitation at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, she has led projects such as the Pembroke Academy of Music and cares deeply about the intersection of arts and health. She is also a trustee of Orchestras for All, Director of Inclusive Education at Teach For All, holds an MA in Educational Leadership, and is completing a PhD on Culturally Responsive Pedagogy. FairPlay brings together her personal experience and professional expertise to reimagine music education in London.

  • Access & Operations Coordinator

This role ensures the smooth running of FairPlay’s programmes while keeping access and inclusion at the heart of everything we do. The Coordinator manages day-to-day administration, supports programme delivery, and helps remove barriers so that anyone can fully take part in our music-making opportunities.

  • Teaching Artists

Our Teaching Artists are more than music tutors, they are skilled musicians and educators who place access and inclusion at the heart of their practice. They curate high-quality, diverse repertoires that both stretch musical skills and reflect the voices and traditions of our community, ensuring every learner feels challenged, inspired, and represented.

  • Wellbeing & Inclusion Advisor

Our Wellbeing & Inclusion Advisor guides safeguarding, mental health, and accessibility across our programmes. They not only ensure safe and supportive spaces, but also advocate for Creative Health — recognising music as a tool for wellbeing and inclusion, and helping remove barriers so every participant can thrive.

  • Finance & Development Manager

Our Finance & Development Manager ensures sustainability and compliance while leading on fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations. Beyond managing numbers, they champion financial accessibility — helping us remove cost barriers so that everyone has the opportunity to take part in our programmes.
