We believe music making

should be for everyone.

FairPlay is a community  music school designed to make high-quality music education accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background, or experience.

We think that music making is a human right and a vital means of expression, connection, and personal growth, not a privilege for just those who can afford it. Yet, we are deeply aware that access to music education and opportunities is often uneven and limited by socioeconomic barriers, cultural divides, and/or systemic inequities.

This reality fuels our work.

about us

What?

FairPlay is born out of a community of musicians, teachers, youthworkers, activists and parents, all frustrated about inequities within the Arts. We’re working collectively to reimagine better spaces for more people to enjoy music making together.

Now what?

We’re building a new kind of music school. A community space for everyone.

Our vision is to dismantle the barriers that stop people from experiencing the joy and health benefits of making music.

Our
mission is to make music education and creative health accessible for all.

So What?

Our guiding principles:

  • We welcome learners of all ages and abilities.

  • We build welcoming spaces where people feel seen, respected, and connected, using shared music-making to strengthen relationships and community ties.

  • We value the creativity, stories, and traditions people bring, allowing these voices to shape our teaching, repertoire, and ways of working.

  • We provide high-quality music education that balances technical skill and creative expression, while actively dismantling barriers to ensure fair and inclusive access for all.

  • We believe the arts can bring joy and connections that enhance wellbeing and nurturing mental, emotional, and social health throughout life.
